March 16, 2020
Dear Church Family,
This morning I met with our ministry team with full knowledge and support of the Board of Stewards. In order to remain faithful to Christ’s command to “love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:31), and to remain faithful to our Church mission statement “We are people caring for people in the spirit of Jesus Christ,” we will be only offering online worship services for the next two weeks. After that time we will reevaluate our position.
The Center for Disease Control is asking us to limit our social presence and contact in order to lessen the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). The Village Church has a large presence in the World Golf Village area with our worship services as well as the many community groups that meet in our facility.
As of today, March 16th 2020, all events meeting at the church including Bible studies, Scouts, Stephen Ministry, Grief Share, Nar-Anon, Tuesday choir and cantata rehearsals, youth and children activities, Refresh and small groups on Wednesday night, Worship and Sunday School on Sunday Mornings, will not meet for two weeks, March 16 – 31.  AA will meet tonight, 3/16, and will reevaluate for future meetings.
Please join us Sunday morning on Facebook live at 10am for our online service, or any time after 10am on our website,, for the video.  Another way to join us is to read the daily devotional.  We have a few here at the church if you did not receive one.
As you may have heard in the news, there is a shortage of blood in the blood banks. One way to be the church outside the church is to GIVE BLOOD next Sunday at the Big Red Bus in our parking lot, 8 am – 1 pm.  Please call Deb, 940-6768, to set up a time.
While we are not holding regularly scheduled activities and worship opportunities, our ministry team is still available, and our mission partners are still providing ministry for the least and lost. Your tithes and offerings are essential to helping our ministry meet these obligations. You may give online at our website, mail us a check, or drop your offering to the church office.
Thank you for your commitment to Christ above all. In John 16:33 Jesus says, “I have said these things to you that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but take heart, I have overcome the world.”
This is our promise and hope from the one who created, redeemed and sustains us.
   Grace, Peace and Love,
   Pastor Alan
If you have a need, please call the church office at 940-6768.  There are several people in the congregation who have offered to shop, pick up items, etc. if you are unable to go out.
